Currently Michelle is practicing Kinesiology and Energy Healing and is integrating this with transformative training sessions.

Prior to this she has been involved in the educational field from 1990 where she taught senior English, Economics and Life Orientation at School Level.

 

She was actively involved in placing grade 11 learners in the world of work as well as being involved in community youth enrichment programmes before joining EFS Training. 

 

She successfully completed the Peer Helping Course run by Cape Town Technikon as well as other courses run by various educational institutions.

 

She possesses excellent facilitating and counselling skills as well as possessing the ability to present material in exciting and creative ways to enable course participants to learn material easily.

 

She has been accredited as a facilitator by the UCT Life Skills Education Department and is an Education, Training and Development Practitioner.

She is an accredited SAQA Assessor and Designer of Assessment Tools.

 

In 2000 she completed the Management Programme for NGO’s and NPO’s from the University of Stellenbosch’s Graduate School of Business.

 

She has been commissioned by corporates to design and compile facilitator manuals and trainee workbooks. She has conducted enrichment courses at Caltex, Hospitals, private venues, Clotex, the Cape Town Small Business Centre, the Mary Poppins Professional Au Pair College, The Graduate School of Business (University of Cape Town) and Broll Property.

 

She has also been contracted by the Western Cape Education Department to facilitate their Women, Leadership and Management Course in both English and Afrikaans as well as their courses for School Management Teams and Support Staff Teams. She conducted courses in Administrative Skills in the Overberg Area in 2003.

Certifications, Qualifications & Experience
  • In 2001, she ran courses for the Unicity’s Small Business Week at the Peninsula Technicon, and in libraries for the Library Business Corners. She was contracted by Clotex to have motivational talks in Cut, Make and Trim businesses.

  • In 2002 Library Business Corners purchased her book, Financial Lifeskills, for libraries throughout the Western Cape. 

  • From 2002, she has run courses for Hope Africa, Library Business Corners and the Peace and Development Project in Nyanga.  

  • In 2003 she worked with the Community Water Supply and Sanitation Unit at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology researching and designing Employable Skills Units in Sanitation for learners at levels 1, 2 and 4. 

  • In 2004 she lectured in Academic Literacy and Lifeskills in a pilot Chieta Bridging Course at in the Science Faculty at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. 

  • In 2005 she was contracted to design the course “Integrated Financial Lifeskills” for the Population Council to assist 14-24 year olds in gaining practical access to financial information.

  • She is a qualified assessor, designer and developer of assessment tools through the ETDP SETA.

  • In 2006 and 2007 she registered full time to complete her structured Masters from the University of the Western Cape's Institute for Social Development. She completed modules in: Theories of Social Transformation; Conflict Studies; Social Problems and Development; Problem Based Learning- Aids and Development. Her mini-thesis was entitled: An Evaluation of Empowering Volunteers for Capacity-Building: A Case Study of Women for Peace, Nobantu Centre, Mfuleni, Western Cape.

  • In 2006 she completed a Mediation Short Course through UWC’s Centre for Conflict Transformation.

  • In 2008 she was contracted by the AHT Group AG to write and have accredited short courses in conflict management and conflict transformation.

  • In 2009 she completed Life Line counselling courses and was licensed as a lay counsellor within the Anglican Church of Southern Africa’s Diocese of Cape Town. She read extensively for an integrated PhD between the Institute for Social Development and the Department of Industrial Psychology at UWC which unfortunately reached a watershed moment. 

  • In 2010 she embarked on her PhD in Education at UWC which she successfully completed and graduated in March 2013. Her topic was: The pastoral role and primary school teachers’ identity in the Western Cape: A multiple case study 

  • In 2013 she was contracted by the Post Graduate School at the University of the Western Cape and assisted in running courses for student teachers, editing theses and supporting post graduate candidates.

  • In 2013 she completed Dr Frans Kromhout’s Kinesiology and Energy Healing Course. She has been practicing in this area of wholistic healing to date combining and integrating all her other skills as well.  

  • From 2013 - 2016 she was approved by the Anglican Bishop of Table Bay in the Diocese of Cape Town to serve on the Project2013 development team. This team was endorsed by provincial synod of 2013 to develop frameworks and curricula for the spiritual formation and development of children and youth. This project’s findings and recommendations were approved in principle at the 2016 Synod of Bishops held in late September. 

  • In 2016 she piloted these findings at St Cyprian’s Retreat amongst the youth.
